Borthwick Floors™ pre-finished engineered flooring offers the beauty and warmth of timber in a convenient and cost effective alternative to solid timber flooring. Pre-finished engineered flooring is developed with a quality multi-layer cross-ply construction, resulting in a strong and stable timber floor which can be installed over any existing surface.
Engineered flooring is constructed from a thin top layer of timber which is bonded to high quality laminated plywood or plantation pine. Pre-finished engineered flooring fits together using tongue and groove system, and all boards are end matched. The surface is pre-treated with a number of coats of scratch resistant UV cured acrylic coatings in a variety of sheens - this avoids the mess and fumes of sanding and finishing on-site. If required, an additional coat can be applied following installation, and the flooring can also be re-sanded and re-coated as needed in future.
Borthwick Floors™ can install pre-finished engineered flooring over any existing sub-floor, as long as it is level and structurally fit. This includes concrete slab, particleboard, plywood, tiles and timber flooring. When used with the appropriate underlay, engineered flooring is great for multi-level units where acoustically rated sound proofing is required. And because engineered flooring is pre-finished, it can be walked on shortly after installation.
